Are B2B Product Managers hindering onset of Product Led Enterprise?
TLDR:- B2B Product managers are not helping the cause of product led enterprise. Many of them are out of touch, do not understand economics of growth and are way too much focused on lower level metrics, loosing sight of growth strategy.
I am very wary of provocative and clickbait titles. So I must assure that it is with full responsibility I have put up the title of this blog post.
This blog is the fifth in a series of Product-Led Growth (PLG) topics. Prior blogs were Getting started in Product Led Growth (PLG) Journey in B2B, Designing Self Serve , 18 months of ShiftLeft PLG Journey and PLG causing Churn in B2B
For last 12–18 months, I have engaged with multiple B2B enterprise product leaders and product managers across the spectrum. Often, I solicited their views on PLX (where X might stand for growth, operations, sales, marketing etc.)
My conversations have been depressing and illuminating at the same time.
Depressing, as I have realized how less enterprise product managers are invested in product led enterprise/X.
Illuminating, as their observations gave me clues to problems that afflict my community (me included) and they indeed can be resolved.
